When I was reselling to make a little extra money on the side I found out these three things when done combined seemed to make me over between $500 to $1000 consistently in sales.
1. List consistently
Consistency seems to be the name of the game and regardless of the platform that you choose to use posting consistently will help you gain traction, all of the algorithms seem to like it!
This is especially true if you are using eBay.
2. Use social media
When I used social media to host sales for my online friends I would undoubtedly get two to three sales and many times it was higher-priced items.
I believe this was because viewers are able to not only see the item but can see how it moves and if you are doing a live your potential buyers can communicate with you and ask you questions. This in turn puts buyers at ease, especially if they are spending a lot of money on an item and they seem more likely to purchase.
I usually cross-list on multiple platforms including Poshmark, eBay, and Mercari. It is always beneficial to do because the more eyes you can have on your products, the more chances you have to sell an item!
4. Have sales
On websites like Mercari, it is easy to decrease the price of your item with one clinic and on Poshmark you can host a store-wide sale fairly easily. If someone has had their eye on a product they will be enticed to buy at this time
5. Accept offers
I always use the option of accepting offers on whatever platform I’m using, this is because many buyers expect and enjoy bartering. I do however limit the lowest amount that someone can offer me for an item because some offers are simply ridiculous.
6. Send offers
When given the option, I will always send offers to likers, and many times someone will accept. I usually only do this with items that have 10 or more likers.
